Who is behind Art Is Trash?

This clip from 2024-01-24 shows a street piece by Art Is Trash, the project of Barcelona-based artist Francisco de Pájaro. Since 2009 he has turned rubbish left on the pavement – boxes, bags, mattresses, old furniture – into wild, comic figures painted on the spot. That makes every figure a one-off: once the street is cleaned, it is gone, and often only videos like this one remain. Beyond Barcelona, his trash art has also appeared in cities such as London and New York.
