Francisco de Pájaro – Art Is Trash

The video from 2023-08-12 documents another work by Francisco de Pájaro, better known as Art Is Trash. Since 2009 he has turned rubbish left on the pavement – boxes, bags, mattresses, old furniture – into wild, comic figures painted on the spot. With humour and provocation he comments on consumerism, waste, politics and the art market. That makes every figure a one-off: once the street is cleaned, it is gone, and often only videos like this one remain.
